Holiday drivers see lower gas prices

Boston Globe -- There is good news at the gas pumps as Americans get ready to fill the tanks of their cars, RVs, and boats for the Labor Day weekend.

The national average price for gasoline has been falling steadily this month, reaching about $2.68 for a gallon of unleaded yesterday, according to AAA and others. That’s about 6 cents a gallon less than a month ago and 7 cents less than it was on the Friday before the July Fourth weekend.

In its weekly report, the US Energy Information Administration said the national average for a gallon of unleaded was $2.68, down about 2 cents from a week ago.

Prices in major cities ranged from $2.62 a gallon in Denver to $3.08 in Los Angeles and $3.12 in San Francisco.

Most analysts believe retail prices will continue to retreat in September.

without a job, many of us couldn't take a vacation even with those artifically high prices, but now the fall season with school costs, several big money holidays, and fuel expenses to heat us up thru an expected cold winter, who cares what the gas prces are for now!!

A lot of schools are already in session. Maybe the weekend driving will be down as a result of that and the economy.

Gas prices here rose from less than $2.30 to %2.59 today just before Labor day. A screwjob from BigOil or is it the oil speculators? Oil speculators need to be taxed at 50-75% of the profit they make to payback the people who are screwed by them!!

It seems like any time there's a big storm that could potentially hit us the gas prices skyrocket, easy excuse for big oil to jack prices up and make even more profit.

Forgive me if I don't do cartwheels and jump around uncontrollably. Are you kidding me!! 7 cents less than a month ago, this is completely crazy. This kind of news or lack of news really makes me angry, and it really takes alot to make me angry.

Prices are still too high. Gas supplies are beyond maximun but still the price went up 15 cents last week. Obamma is just a black G.W. Bush. They are both crooks.

If prices follow the normal pattern they should go up on Thursday evening just prior to start of Labor Day Holiday.

Fuel always falls this time of year as the holiday winds down and vacations are over. Now they have to try to move all that supply before the winter blends. Conservation keeps your money in your pocket.
